22nd Sep: LNER B1 Class 4-6-0 #61306 'Mayflower' THE CATHEDRALS EXPRESS from Horsham to Bristol Temple Meads 1Z42 Warnham-Ockley. Mayflower was really working extremely hard to climb up the 1 in 90 (?) gradient from Warnham to Ockley under the very wet track condition. Class 47 #47760 on the rear was also sounding horrendous and, I think, truly doing the proper banking role today. Mayflower just came down to the South yesterday (21st) from Sheringham (to Southall).
