6th May: THE GREAT BRITAIN X (Day 8 of 9) from Bristol Temple Meads to Plymouth 1Z46 (and then to Penzance by Diesel 1Z49) powered by SR West Country #34046 'Braunton' running as #34052 'Lord Dowding' and LMS Royal Scot Class 7P 4-6-0 #46100 'Royal Scot'. This year's Great Britain Tour was "anti-clockwise" by starting from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh on Day 1 and ending from Penzance to London Paddington on the last day (Day 9 on 7th May) . Waking up very early and heading to the site of former "Strap Lane Halt" of The Wilts, Somerset and Weymouth Railway (WSWR) between Frome and Bruton (between Witham and Bruton at that time) to capture the GB-X.
