15th Dec: The weather on 15th forecasted by Met Office was quite rubbish so I decided, rather lazily, to visit Woking using my lunchtime break (unfortunately 1Z45 was running about 30 minutes late). The weather, however, turned to be gorgeous as the noon approached and it was too late for me to change my mind to get somewhere around Chertsey to avoid the backlight situation (Surrey stretch of M25 was, as usual, dead anyway). As you may be able to spot, the trees along the bank of downside track are partly cut down (rumour says it is to improve some subsidence issues nearby, but obviously not sure if it is the case). I do not know why I did not think to move the other side of the bridge (definitely next time to try new angle at St John's). Nevertheless, I think I like this shot. LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 Black Five #45212 THE CATHEDRALS EXPRESS 1Z45 from Ashford International to Salisbury. Class 47 #47580 'County of Essex' was on the rear. Woking-Brookwood.
