26th Oct: BR Britannia Class 7MT 4-6-2 No. 70000 'Britannia' turned out to be No. 70014 'Iron Duke' in disguise passing by the London Overground Wandsworth Road station. LO station staffs also temporarily stopped their work and enjoyed the show with their smartphone in hand. Iron Duke was slightly suffering from the slipping under the wet track condition. Despite total 12 carriages formation, surprisingly there was no diesel at the rear that may be the primary cause of the trouble later on this journey. It was reported Iron Duke was "Slipped to a stand on 1 in 60 gradient Bearsted Bank". Class 66 (No. 66726 ?) was sent from Tonbridge (?) to rescue (push from the back) the train. In the end 192 minutes late at Canterbury West. It was also reported that the return-leg 1Z84 was re-routed directly back to Victoria via Ashford not via the coast as it was originally planned and "with two 66s and Iron Duke hanging on the rear". Oh what a day for Iron Duke.
