9th Jul: SR Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2 No. 35018 'British India Line' THE END OF SOUTHERN STEAM 1Z92 0845 from London Victoria to Yeovil Pen Mill. 1Z92 was booked on the Slow but I was just enjoying my meaningless expectation (that I myself did not take serious) that it might be put on the Fast because it was running 16 minutes late at Woking. To my surprise was, when I saw 1Z92 in the distance, it was on the Fast ! Although I was under minor panic to change my angle but SR Merchant Navy on the SWML Fast on the day of the End of Southern Steam was very great bonus for me (or others on the bridge too ?). Class 47 No. 47245 was on the rear. Woking-Brookwood.
