23rd Mar: LNER loco B1 4-6-0 No. 61306 'Mayflower' Excursion 1Z61 from Southend East to East Grinstead Sidings (Steam hauled as far as South Croydon). Mayflower's visit to the Bluebell Railway. Because there is no facility to turn the loco round at Bluebell, the train was reversed at South Croydon from where the diesel was providing motive power to Kingscote at Bluebell. To my surprise was the routing to South Croydon via the North Downs Line that I did not expect. Many thanks to whoever planned the route ! Class 33 No. 33207 was on the rear. Chilworth-Gomshall.
