SR Q 0-6-0 #30541 at Vaex End ("Vaux" End ?). It is quite unusual Brake Van Rides at Horsted Keynes visits as far as Vaex End ! also passengers onboard looked as if Bluebell volunteers. When I approached Vaex End earlier, I found very minor lineside fires (saw smokes coming out from the middle of a sleeper). There was no fire beaters nor water butts nearby and I had only small amount of water left in my bottle. Luckily I saw another young fotter in the distance and he had also small amount of drinks. We knew Flying Scotsman was approaching to Vaex End any moment from East Grinstead, so as soon as she had passed the site, we tried and managed to extinguish the "smoke" by using up all of our drinks. Our guess was that perhaps crew of Flying Scotsman saw the smoke coming out from the sleeper and reported this to the staff at the Horsted Keynes station and then Q with the Brake Van was launched to check and sort out the minor problem. But we were not sure.
