11th May: GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 #5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' THE CHELTENHAM FLYER from Tyseley Warwick Rd to Paddington 1Z73 Goring & Streatley-Pangbourne. Steam legs (both outward and return) between Gloucester and Paddington were non-stop ! The headboard says "GWR CHELTENHAM FLYER WORLD'S FASTEST TRAIN". Indeed she arrived Paddington 39 minutes early.
