6th Dec: LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 Black 5 #44871 and #45407 THE CHRISTMAS SUSSEX BELLE from London Victoria to Eastbourne 1Z70. Surrey was covered by thick fog this morning and you may find it was not still entirely cleared even almost by half past noon. Locos and ECS movement from Southall to Victoria 5Z70 was 78 minutes late at Victoria due to broken air pipe (according to info). As a result of that 1Z70 departed Victoria almost 1 hour late. So I was assuming 1Z70 was running about 1 hour late but when I saw the steam emerging from the fog, my camera was still in the bag ! I thought I would miss the shot ! Class 47 #47802 was on the rear. Horley-Gatwick Airport and only 20 minutes late there. I should have checked RTT when I got the bridge.
