17th Mar: LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 Black 5 No. 44932 movement to Bluebell Railway for filming work. 5Z50 1457 Southall Wcr to East Grinstead Sidings. Heavy traffic at Dorking (presumably due to school pick-up ?), further chaotic traffic jam at M25 Junction 6 caused by a break-down lorry blocking one lane of M25 slip-road as well as A22 roundabout and finally 5Z50 being running about 10 min early made me completely mad. When I managed to park my car near the Woldingham station, I had only less than 3 min left. I had to abandon my original plan and dashed to a nearby bridge by taking only my camera and step. When I got the bridge then 5Z50 was already in my view ! No time to check the camera settings and to put the hood on the lens - just had only moment to remove my lens cap ! But I rather think I was extremely lucky to capture this shot (must think positively). I do not recall when was my last time to see the mainline self-propelled steam movement by tender-first operation. Maybe in 2013, almost 10 years ago. Woldingham-Oxted Tunnel.
