24th Dec: 2012 Santa Specials 2nd (service Y) Train on Christmas Eve was hauled by BR 9F #92212 (visiting from MHR). Getting darker and darker so I went for the 50mm f1.8 prime lens. This year, the Santa Specials service only operated between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes to avoid any possible problems with the weather (Bluebell Web). Instead the train travelled very slowly (took 30 min between SP and HK while normally it takes 15 min approx.) that helped me greatly as I could use slow shutter speed !
